J. Will Huber

Attorney

Biography

Will represents businesses and individuals in complex tort, property, and contract litigation, transactional matters, and regulatory compliance. His practice spans high-stakes litigation, defamation and other speech-based torts, corporate deals, and alcoholic beverage licensing, where he guides clients through both courtroom battles and strategic business transactions. Known for his calm and friendly demeanor, Will is trusted by clients to navigate stressful and complex matters with clarity and composure.

In his litigation practice, Will has obtained significant victories at both the trial and appellate levels. He authored briefing that led the Ohio Supreme Court to overturn more than a century of precedent on the defamation discovery rule, prevailed in an anti-SLAPP motion under Kentucky’s Uniform Public Expression Protection Act (“UPEPA”) on behalf of a defendant resulting in an award of attorneys’ fees and costs, and co-authored briefing in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals securing a jurisdictional victory in a nationally prominent case involving online harassment. He has secured numerous victories at trial and the dispositive motions phase, securing complete damages and attorneys’ fees, and has negotiated favorable settlements in a wide range of disputes.

In addition to his litigation work, Will handles business transactions, including negotiating and closing asset purchase agreements. His experience includes representing the buyer in a multi-million-dollar acquisition of a Kentucky distillery and representing the seller of an insurance agency. He also advises businesses on alcoholic beverage licensing and regulatory compliance, helping clients navigate the specialized requirements of the industry.

A Cincinnati native, Will graduated cum laude from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Northern Kentucky Law Review as Symposium Editor and Digital Media Editor. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music.

Outside of his practice, Will enjoys playing guitar, piano, pedal steel, saxophone, penny whistle, banjo, and mandolin, as well as spending time with his fiancée and their crazy dog Mello, as well as family and friends, in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community.
